8 New and Rising Korean Actors
1). Lee Do-Hyun, 25
Do-Hyun stars on “18 Again”, “Sweet Home,” and “Hotel Del Luna.” This rising new actor captivates the K-drama masses with his antagonist-protagonist personality on films. His acting and on-screen charm match the big stars he has worked with such as IU and Song Kang.
2). Cha Eun-Woo, 23
There is no denying that this new Korean actor/idol has a face of an angel. He started as a singer in the K-pop boy group, Astro. But succeeded in pursuing acting in “Gangnam Beauty” and “True Beauty”. His face won him several awards such as “Man of the Year” in GQ Korea.
3. Ong Seong Wu, 25
Another K-pop idol/actor on the list, Ong Seong Wu debuted as a lead singer of a big group from 2017 to 2019, Wanna One. Their hits include “Energetic” and “Beautiful” which won them world tours and catapulted Wu into stardom. With his recent work on “At Eighteen,” his acting is proof enough that he will soon be one of the “Oppa”s worth following.
4. Kim Dong-Hee, 21

Dong-Hee appeared in the second-highest-rated drama in Korea, “Sky Castle”. This new rising Oppa also starred in “Itaewon Class.” Brand of the Years Awards recognized him as a rising star with his drama “Extracurricular” – a dark teen-themed show that earned praises for its compelling narrative. He might be new, but he’s already showing a promising acting career.
5. Jo Byung-Gyu, 24

His latest project “The Uncanny Encounter” earned him a spot as a rising actor to look out for. Although he’s not a new face in the industry, “The Uncanny Encounter” is his first lead role. He also appeared in many series such as “School 2015”,” The K2”, “Time”, “Radio Romance” and “Sky Castle.”
6. Nam Da-Reum, 18

Da-Reum is the youngest on this list, but he has the most number of projects since 2009. He started gaining recognition in the show “Startup.” He used to play the traumatized teen version of the leading men in other dramas. But now that’s he is grown up, we hope he gets more lead roles.
7. Han Gi Chan, 22
Han Gi Chan debuted in the survival audition show “Produce X 101” where he was a trainee for 10 months but was eliminated. Since then, he has pursued acting and debuted as the lead role in “Where Your Eyes Linger”. He may also be a new rising Oppa, but he’s surely on his way to the top.
8. Jang Eui-Soo, 31

Jang Eui-Soo made his debut in 2012, appearing in the drama series “Gentleman’s Dignity.” A new face in the industry. But we know that there’s more of him to come in the future.
