Harley Quinn is exploring her new life without the Joker in her upcoming movie. The Birds Of Prey focuses on Quinn as well as other female DC characters. The first trailer dropped on October 1st. (image source)
She is an accomplice and lover of the Joker, they met at Arkham Asylum, Gotham City where she works as an intern psychiatrist there where his patient is Joker. In the previous movies of batman, these characters teamed up with fellow villains like Penguin, The Riddler, Poison Ivy, CatWoman and etc.
The movie follows Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) after her breakup with Mr. J. Quinn teams up with Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), and detective Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez), to save Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco) from Black Mask (Ewan McGregor).
Robbie, aside from taking the lead role, also serves as one of the producers for the movie. According to Collider, Robbie pitched the film to Warner Bros. in 2015 as “an R-rated girl gang film including Harley, because I was like, ‘Harley needs friends.’ Robbie then spent three years developing the movie with a team to present it to Warner Bros. By April of last year, the company gave the go signal and made a deal with Cathy Yan to direct. This made Director Yan the first female Asian director to direct a superhero film.

Birds Of Prey will be released on February 7, 2020, in the US.
