Babies cry for many reasons, it might be because of a dirty diaper, hunger, feeling sleepy, need a burp or worse they are experiencing colic. Colic in babies can really be exhausting for moms, it can even bring you to tears too, no kidding! Most especially when you didn’t get enough sleep and you are also experiencing baby blues. But, anyway, I’m not here to scare you, I’m here to give you some pointers on what to do if these things happen.

Soothe a Crying Baby by:
Swaddle your Baby
The feeling of wrapping them up can be very comfortable to them, imagine they are inside you for 9 months so they are longing for the womb-like feeling and swaddling can do the trick. For first-timers, you can ask the doctor or a nurse on you can swaddle your baby using a blanket best thing to soothe a crying baby.
Hold your Baby in Your Arms
Well, anyone can be at ease when someone is hugging you, they will feel more safe and secure.
Hold your baby in your arms and place her body on her left side

Sometimes they just need some fresh air or the motion when you are walking. This can maybe soothe a crying baby and even the mom, I told you, you’ll be needing tons of energy, and you need to brace yourself, it may be very tiring for you to walk but this might be the resolve the issue.
Encourage Sucking
Feeding them when they are hungry can solve soothe a crying baby but if it’s not yet time for your baby to feed then offer the pacifier or help your baby find her thumb or finger. Many babies are calmed by sucking, to avoid overfeeding.
Massage
Now, if you’ve done all of these and still you cannot soothe a crying baby then you can give him/her a massage, it will make them feel relaxed.

- Stroke her chest from the center outward and make small circles on her stomach, around her belly button.
- Gently roll her arms and legs between your hands, taking turns with each limb, or try alternating your hands in a “milking” motion as you stroke each limb from her core to the extremity.
- Unfurl her fists and rub her palms and fingers.
- Massage the soles of her feet and uncurl her toes, too.
- If she doesn’t mind, try turning her on her tummy and stroking her back from side to side, then up and down.
Relax
Yes, I want you to calm down, sometimes, it’s because of overstimulation, everything is new to your baby and to you too. Take a deep breath, keep the atmosphere quiet and calm, dim lights and just breathe. Your baby can also sense that you are cramming so, don’t be hard on yourself, take it easy and relax.
