In one of our previous posts, we talked about some important facts that everyone needs to know about cancer. In today’s post, we’d like to share some of the most effective ways to catch the disease.
According to WHO (World Health Organization), 1 death out of 6 is caused by this disease. That is a whopping 6 million people dying from it every year. If you want to add yourself to these numbers, then here are some of the best ways to have cancer.
Doing and finding the following items on this list should be easy since they are present in our everyday lives. Most of them even give us pleasure, while the others, we just can’t get rid of or avoid.
How to Get Cancer
Infection

Don’t get too excited! Getting viral infections (such as Covid-19) doesn’t automatically give you cancer. Rather, the viruses that penetrate your cells can trigger “mutation” or the growth and production of tumor-causing abnormal cells. Having a weak immune system makes you more susceptible to infections that can damage your cells. It’s like buying tickets for the lottery. The more infections you get (tickets you buy), the more chances of winning.
Tobacco
Tobacco is one of the most common carcinogens. Therefore, it’s one of the best ways to have cancer. That’s because tobacco contains harmful chemicals you can ingest or intake when you smoke or even chew it. These harmful chemicals enter your lungs together with the oxygenated air you breathe in. They then flow into the bloodstream and circulate throughout the body. The accumulated amount of these harmful elements can cause lung and mouth cancers among others.
Hazardous Workplace

A lot of workplaces expose workers to carcinogenic substances. An example of this is firework factories that use chemical dyes to create fireworks. Another is the mining industry that exposes miners to fossil fuels like mineral oils, coal products, and diesel engine exhaust. Those who work in the construction industry are not exempted. That’s because they have exposure to asbestos, coal products, paint, and solvents, as well as wood dust.
But if you’re not keen on physical labor, just staying too long in the sun can work for you too. Keep in mind that excessive sun exposure is the best cause of skin cancer.
Stress
Who says you need to work in a factory to expose yourself to carcinogens? Overworking and stress can help you do the job. Stress can greatly impact and lower your immune system, making you more susceptible to illnesses and cell damage.

Alcohol

Íf there’s one thing adults can’t live without (apart from their smartphones), it would be alcohol. At every party you go to, there’ll always be alcohol. Even when you just want to chill out with friends, there must always be alcohol to be shared. Without it, are you even friends at all?
Alcohol contains ethanol (pure alcohol) and acetaldehyde, a toxic by-product of the former. Together they can cause cancer by linking with DNA causing the cells to replicate incorrectly. They can also directly damage tissues, thereby lowering your body’s defense against other carcinogens.
Obesity
The link between obesity and cancer is clear and undeniable But how exactly they affect and affect one another is still lost to medical experts. One of their guesses is that visceral fat cells restrict the flow of oxygen through the affected areas of the body. The low-level of oxygen in that specific area, then, causes inflammation in the body that damages the cells.
Note again that damaged cells are one-way tickets to paradise!
Radiation
Radiation either from the sun or from manmade sources is another best way to have cancer. It comes in many forms, such as radon, x-rays, gamma rays, ultra-violet rays, and other forms of high-energy radiation. Workers who handle these kinds of elements are very likely to develop skin cancer.
Which way do you choose to go?

Now, this is all assuming that you want to be part of WHO’s increasing cancer statistics. If that’s your goal in life, then so be it. No one can tell you how you should live your life anyway.
But if you’re the type who wants to go the other way – live a healthy life while you still can – then you know what you need to do to avoid developing this disease. If you love alcohol, take it in moderation. If you feel the need to work harder than the rest, take frequent breaks to destress and relax your mind. You can also practice meditations and yoga to help rejuvenate the cells in your body.
