We just got out of 2020, and really, most of us doubted if we’d ever make it out alive. But we did! So here we are, only a month after 2020, already thinking about what to do on Valentine’s Day. To those who are looking to spend this special day with their SO’s, this article might just help you out. Today, we’ll be sharing easy date ideas for Valentine’s Day 2021.
Who says you have to make a grand gesture or spend too much to make this day special? There are many ways you can celebrate Valentine’s without spending too much (or at all).
Date Draw Lots

Instead of you stressing over what to for Valentine’s Day, why don’t you let destiny choose for you? You can do this by making “date draw lots.” First, make a list of you and your SO’s favorite activities. It can be anything from, binge-watching your favorite shows, cooking and eating your favorite food, or reading books together. Write them on paper and cut them into strips. Then, place the lots in a container. You and your SO can pick a lot and do the activity on Valentine’s Day.
Affection Plants

Instead of giving flowers that die in a few days, why not give your SO an “affection plant“? Don’t worry, it’s not something grand. It’s just a fancy word for plants that show your affection for your loved ones.
There are a wide variety of plants you can give as presents. But the best types are the indoor plants because they are not high-maintenance, very easy to take care of, and don’t require so much attention. Some of the cheap indoor plants you can choose from are:
- Red snail plants
- Spider plants
- Aloe Vera
- Portulaca
- Peace Lily
What’s even better is that you can now buy them online. So even if you have no time to go out and search for good plant stores, you can still get your special someone this gift.
DIY Romantic Dinner
Another easy date idea for Valentine’s Day is having a romantic dinner with your SO. Romantic dinners don’t need to happen in fancy restaurants alone. You and your SO can have it too even in the comfort of your homes. You can cook your favorite dish together, then light up some candlelights in the dinner area, and put up romantic music in the background.
Get Physical

I know what you’re thinking! But hold your horses, it’s not what I’m suggesting. Instead of doing typical Valentine’s Day activities, why don’t you do something different this year? You can go bike riding, rock climbing, wall climbing or jog out in a park or around your neighborhood. Not only is this a great bonding activity, but it’s also good for your health.
Make a Mixtape

In this era, it may be impossible to create and play a mixtape. What you can do instead is to make a special playlist for your SO and share it with them on Valentine’s Day. You can curate and collect all the songs that remind you of your SO, or the songs that both of you have liked all through the years. It’s a sweet gesture and also a good way to recall your past years together, especially if you’ve been together for many years.
It should come from the heart
Here are some easy date ideas you can do this Valentine’s Day. You can choose to do one, or you can choose to do all of them to make the day extra special. But whatever you choose to do for you SO, always remember that it should be sincerely coming from the heart.
