Bleaching your hair is a process that a chemical hair dye strips the color of your hair strands. Your hair will turn yellow or will have a reddish tone, depending on the natural hair color. With this technique, it can make your hair dry and brittle. For the guys and girls out there, here are the step or tips we can share oh how you can take care of bleached hair and making it still smooth and manageable.
Use of Conditioner
A conditioner helps strengthen and makes the hair smooth. Using shampoo is okay since you still need to clean it, but after washing it, do not forget to use a conditioner. Apply it from mid-lengths of your hair to ends, rinse it properly with lukewarm water. It will close the cuticle of your hair and locks moisture.
No-No for Heat Styling Tools
Since we have mentioned that bleaching will make your hair dry, using heat-styling tools will make the dryness even worst. If you’d like your hair to look healthy, just have it air-dry, use velcro to make cute hair curls.
Comb It
Use a wide-tooth comb to reduce breakage. If your hair is bleached it will be weak and dry; it will break easily if it’s’s wet, and you comb it with a regular hairbrush. Start combing it from the tips and work your way up carefully. It’s is also nice to comb your hair regularly. Same as some skincare, it doesn’t always have to have a product, there are things that you can do easily while taking care of it.
Sulfate-Free Products
Hair products with sulfate are full of salt and can make your hair dry more. The damage will become worst, so you have to be keen on the products that you’ll be using once you bleach your hair. Avoid products containing these ingredients: sodium lauryl sulfate, ammonium laureth sulfate, or sodium Laureth sulfate. Yes, some shampoos or conditioners will be a little more expensive than the normal ones, but it’s the risk that you have to look into if you want you still want your hair to be healthy.
Hot Oil is the Key
Do an oil treatment once a week. You do not need to rush into a salon to have this kind of treatment, and I bet you think that it will be another expense. No worries, you can use coconut or argan oil to rehydrate your tresses. Once you apply the oil, put a shower cap on, and leave it for 30minutes to an hour. Rince is thoroughly and Ta-dah! It works magically with your bleached hair.
Trim Makes it Prim
Spit-ends work hand-in-hand with dryness, and once you bleach your hair, you’ll experience to have more split-ends. So, we advise trimming your hair every six weeks or less if split-ends are worst.
