A 4.9-magnitude earthquake has hit Quezon province at 2:14 in the morning of December 22, 2020. On the Richter scale, a light earthquake is measured at between 4 and 4.9 magnitudes. However, reports from Facebook posts of citizens in the affected areas state that the earthquake was strongly felt from where these citizens are.
Some comments under an updated post from Antipolo Star’s Facebook page state that people were awakened from sleep because of the earthquake. One user from Caloocan North also reported having felt the earthquake despite the hundred-kilometer distance from the epicenter in General Nakar. The tremors were also felt in the areas of Bulacan, Laguna, Tondo, Malabon, Rizal, Valenzuela, Mandaluyong, Pasig as well as other nearby locations.
