It’s been a month since Apple launched iOS 14. Most people have probably updated their iPhones and iPads, while a lot still remain hesitant. While there are several pretty features included in the update, other new bugs and issues also keep coming up. This is especially true for mobile apps that haven’t been upgraded to work compatibly with iOS 14. To update or not to update? Here’s our take on Apple’s iOS 14 update.

The Main Feature
The most highlighted feature of the iOS14 update is the personalization of your Home screen. Apple has now (finally) allowed Home screen manipulation and enabled users to select the widgets they use most often.
Here are some ideas on how you can use the feature:

If you value aesthetics more than anything, then this main feature suits you. You definitely should update your device.
The Downside
But aesthetics aside, most users also encountered issues along the way. The most common issue is accessing banking apps.
BDO specifically had trouble keeping up with the update. When some users updated their devices, they later discovered that the app wasn’t compatible with the new OS. As a result, they couldn’t access their banks through the mobile app.
This comes during a time when conducting transactions online is most crucial. To address the issue, BDO made a statement assuring the public their app will be made up-to-date. “You may experience issues launching the BDO Digital Banking app and Apple teams are working on updating our app to be fully supported on iOS 14”.
Fortunately, at this time the app has been updated and users can now access their accounts with ease on their mobile devices.
Have you updated your Apple device? What’s your verdict? To update or not to update? What is your answer for iOS 14?
